3-Star Alignment
After setting the time and location, it is necessary to perform 3-Star Alignment on the equatorial , which can make the equatorial GOTO more accurate.
Before performing 3-Star Alignment, please align the equatorial with the polar through methods such as polar mirror/drift method/Asiair/NINA. Accurate polar alignment can make the equatorial to maintain stable tracking for a longer period of time.
① Long press the middle key of the directional key on the "Main Interface" to enter the "Main Menu" → "Align"
② Select the number of star points that need to be used, usually choosing "3-Star" or more stars. Under 3 stars, the best calibration effect will not be achieved.
③ After selecting "3-Star", the following interface will be displayed. At this time, press the N and S keys directly to enter the list and select the first star. Confirm the selected target by pressing button W.
④ After confirmation, the equatorial will start GOTO and wait for it to complete. The screen will display as shown in the following figure.
Fine tune the direction of the equatorial through the directional buttons, and adjust the movement speed through the F1/F2 buttons.
Check the eyepiece/finder or camera screen, place the target star point in the center of the field of view, and press the directional middle button briefly to synchronize the position and complete the calibration of the first star.
⑤ Repeat steps ③ and ④ twice, select the second and third stars for alignment. When selecting stars, try to choose three stars that are dispersed as far away as possible to achieve better alignment results.
