Set time and location
When using for the first time or observing changes in location, it is necessary to set the correct observation position and time.
*Before powering on, please adjust the equatorial to home position (with the heavy hammer pointing towards the ground and the telescope aligned with the North Star).
Set time
① Long press the middle key of the directional key on the "main interface" to enter the "main menu" ->select to enter the "settings" menu.
② Select "Date/Time Settings" and adjust the date by pressing the N and S keys. Long press to quickly adjust. After adjustment, confirm with button W.
③ After confirming the date, enter the time adjustment process using the same method as above. After adjustment, confirm with button W.
④ After confirming the time, enter the daylight saving time setting. Generally, select "no". If you need to set daylight saving time, adjust it by pressing the N and S buttons. After adjustment, confirm by pressing the W button. At this point, the time setting is complete.
*The time information will be saved in the RTC chip inside the machine and automatically timed, without the need to set it every time it is powered on.
Set observation location
① In the "Settings" menu, select "Site".
② Go to the "Latitude" and "Longitude" settings pages separately, adjust by pressing the N and S keys, and long press to quickly adjust. After adjustment, confirm with button W. The latitude and longitude can be viewed through the mobile compass software in degrees, minutes, and seconds. The following image takes Suzhou City / China as an example.
N represents north latitude, S represents south latitude, E represents east longitude, and W represents west longitude.
The location information will be saved inside the machine and does not need to be set every time it is powered on. It only needs to be modified when the observation location changes.
Set UTC offset
Taking Suzhou/China as an example, Suzhou is located in the East 8th district. In the ONS TEP, the East time zone is negative, so the UTC time is set to (- time zone) 8. The time zone will be saved on the device and does not need to be set every time it is powered on. Only when there is a change in the observation location, it needs to be modified.
